The first season, I can see people genuinely enjoying. It was like the first season of Family Guy; it didn't take itself too seriously and parodied things it plays perfectly straight in later season.

And then somewhere between the second half of the second season and the beginning of the third season, the only reason I stopped laughing while I watched was so I could continue to hear Darren Criss' buttery voice.

as I understand it, it's one of those cases where the creator had a planned arc for like 12 episodes or so, and then had to improvise after that
