Is it offensive to feel like I'd rather deal with gender dysphoria than periods?

Not offensive to me and I'm trans. I do think you need to experience gender dysphoria, or at least something similar, to know what you're talking about.

I'm MtF and I have pretty heavy and painful periods, I also suffer from bouts of gender dysphoria. There are a couple of points I'd like to make.
1) Count your blessings, you could have both. Like me and a couple of other commenters.
2) Periods are periodical. Usually I have two weeks of bliss until I ovulate and then slowly but steadily I will go downhill until I hit the four week mark. When I'm lucky I will get my period then and I will have one day of painful cramps. Lately my period has been late and a lot more painful. Boo. But I can talk to this about most other people, I can take painkillers, I can get a hot water bottle, take a nice hot bath, I've just started taking some alternative kind of medicine to help with my PMS and so far it's really helping me.
3) Dysphoria will and can hit me at any time. I have some good days, some bad days, most days are in between. I can't take a painkiller to sooth that kind of pain, it's not something I can discuss with anyone really.
4) Let's say I had a choice to either not experience gender dysphoria or to not have my periods, I'd definitely choose to live with my periods and feel like a woman inside instead of having that feeling that the inside and the outside don't match.
5) I don't know how far you've already gone down the track to do something about your periods, but for me personally vitamin B tablets, evening primrose oil and relaxation methods like mindfulness and yoga have really helped me. Good luck!
