A couple of days ago I had a dream where my best friend and I were on a quest to find sweet golden apples in the middle of a dark Gothic forest. Outside the forest, there was a huge grey river and a small town where every house looked like it was built by a countryside cross between Gaudi and Byron. And a thunderstorm was coming.

Apparently the whole thing took place in Crewe (which is the location where the nonexistent fourth Murder Rooms book is supposed to be set). My brain has weird ideas as regards small cities in Eastern Cheshire.

What made it Guadi-esque? Were there inexplicable wavy benches or structures, or something about the plants? Did you get the apples? I must know!

Yes, some parts of the buildings were inexplicably wavy. And the church had a spire like a melted candle. We did see the apples, but unfortunately I woke up before we got to them! I think they might've been the apples of Hesperides. Greek mythology is what one of the themes of the series is built upon.

Ah, wavy buildings. Gotta love 'em.
