Maybe it's because her voice is relly forced?
Also, I guess you could discuss it bar-by-bar and find that there are a lot of passages in the verse that just... keep it small, instead of, somehow breaking out, but I lack the termini to relly talk about that.

plus, the song may be about freedom, but as far as i can see she's really throwing a teenager tantrum, complete with running away, I hate you all and I'll go have my own party now. so it would make sense to not have her find complete freedom. because it's not complete yet.
