Where in Germany are you from? In the south chicken go something along the lines of "boock" (long o sound, but pronounced a bit lower than usual)

Middle-east of germany. I thought about adding the bawk sound, as that is also what it actually sounds like here too. But then I remembered the kid books I had and went with that.
