Martha being higher-class than Rose

What? Why? Is that to do with education, like the anon above said? So, wait, Martha is "high class" because she went to Uni and then on to med school, but Rose is low class because she didn't get any post-secondary education and works retail? Or because Martha makes more money (as a doctor, and presumably she's filthy rich working for UNIT) than Rose would, as a store clerk?

I don't know, I always got the impression Martha's parents were supposed to be upper middle class (or whatever the British equivalent is, iirc the "rules" are different than they are here in the US). We see Martha's mother's house in season four, and it does not look like the house of someone as poor as Rose is supposed to be. But Martha herself likely doesn't make very much, and anyway, that's not even the point of Rose or Martha. :/
