I've got to say, having been in similar bordering-on-creepy-only-getting-creepier comms in my youth for much the same reasons as you (trying to stop lurking, and tolerating creepier bits of the community because they otherwise seemed fun) it will most likely get worse. And never get better.

If I were you, I would keep the friends you've made on your watchlist (or whatever it is in tumblr) but nope out of the community as nonchalantly as possible. If you're conflicted about doing this, remember: if these people have different views on something so seemingly clearcut as 'don't make creepy headcanons about the gender identity and sexuality of real people', then imagine all the other ways they are probably not your kind of people, deep down.

Don't let them suck you down with them.
