My advice is to call NHS direct right now. As in tonight.

See your dentist again tomorrow, and get another emergency appointment if the swelling is worse.

If that's not possible, check for emergency dental clinics at your nearest hospital. Or go to your doctor as an emergency patient. You need to get this sorted out as soon as possible. You don't want to leave it until the swelling impedes your breathing.

It's true that antibiotics can take 3-4 days to work, but after 4 days of not eating you'll be pretty weak.
