Depends. I like turn based games that really, really exploit the mechanic by making the combat so difficult and the strategies necessary so complex that it would a lost cause in real time (like some of the megaten games) but for your generic "press X to make it die" RPGs I don't really see the point. It's not like it's asking you to do combos.

Fuck yeah megaten.

I'm rather enjoying the combat system in Devil Survivor right now, even if I'm stuck on a boss.

(Persona 1 also has an interesting system, if a bit awkward to use at times.)
