Re: Horror genre rant with major Hannibal spoilers

I agree completely. I'm not sure how people are missing the horror aspect and taking it as a normal procedural or something when all the crazy tableaux and horror movie homages and surreal nightmare images are right there. It should be abundantly clear by the time they get to Buffet Froid, at the latest. You'd think Hannibal hadn't killed anyone before this, the way some are reacting. It's kind of a running thing with him, and people we know and like are going to run afoul of him from time to time, especially if they're smart and good at what they do. Beverly wasn't even supposed to last this long. She was originally going to die last season, with her ear ending up in Will's stomach, but they liked her and didn't feel like they'd done enough with her for her death to have an impact. She was my favorite character aside from Hannibal and Will, but I honestly didn't have much hope for her after the first trailer came out. She wasn't a main character, and like you said, only Will and Hannibal are guaranteed until the end. Even Jack could bite it by the end of the season. They're still yelling at Fuller on Twitter and he's still not going for it, so that's pretty funny.
