hiding the text behind the image may sound like an artful and clever idea, but it's really counterproductive if you want people to be able to read your secret.
unless it was unintentional. photoshop can be tricky that way.

I always thought I would find Dragon Age (and Fallout etc.) fanfiction weird because your character is customisable and would feel too much like someone else's OC but I actually found quite a few stories that I really liked. I think it's because you still have the more or less same plot as a frame for the story (which is why I can't read modern AU fics for those fandoms).

Yeah, I agree for the most part with this.

On a semi-related note, I do think it's kind of silly for people to gripe about OCs in fandoms where they're pretty much the norm (mostly MMORPGs; and even things like Pokemon, where you have a literal blank slate with no real personality whatsoever, just a physical appearance that's now customizable with X/Y), but that's just IMHO. =V

I thought it'd be odd when I hit up the SWTOR kink meme (it has plenty of smut, but some fluff as well), but most of it's pretty good, though it's also easy to super impose your own (some writers give a vague enough description of the OC that you can do that, which i believe was on purpose).

Oh goodness. From your secret I assumed you were a regular checker at AO3, where I've been updating pretty consistently (monthly), so you've seen mine and included it with the "no good OCs" generalization. That's why I was teasing with your lack of taste, hahaha

If you're looking for TPP, this is not it. My main character isn't even a trainer, she's a flaky girl with a pet. But uh, after we slog through this first part, there will be proper trainers (an Indigo champion!) and action??? Hot damn why am I writing this mush.

I wrote one....it's also partly a Pokemon AU with some canons but it has original characters. I tend to do everything I write in the weirdest way possible so...yeah lol

Pokemon OT fic recs? Pokemon OT fic recs.

Pedestal by Digital Skitty - looong and involved and pretty damn epic, set in Sinnoh. The same author also has a WIP called Ree Majors' Wonderful Journey, which is set in Unova and is also really good.

Regret by Crukix, pretty damn dark and intense, set in Hoenn.

Clouded Sky by Negrek, more fantasy-ish based, I guess? Set in an original region (with fakemon) and more familiar ones.

Six Spirit by Ysavvryl, set in an original region with fakemon, has awesome worldbuilding. They also have another fic, Pokemon Mage Ruby, which is a retelling of the Hoenn games WITH MAGIC!

I have a soft spot for Dragon Master (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/384344/1/Dragon_Master) myself. Be warned; the formatting's iffy, and the plot's an obvious recycle of the Gold and Silver games (right down to the redheaded Giovanni heir) until darned near the end.
