Inspired by real life.
I was pleasantly surprised that I felt very little pain (almost none) and it took less than hour. And it cost $30 less than I thought it would.
So I want to know what are some experiences you dreaded OR was excited about, but it turned out being much easier or not as awesome as you thought it would be?

On the other hand, I went on a trip to Instanbul many years back and instead of it being an adventure, it really felt like I've gone back home, even though it's a friggin thousand miles away from home!
I still have no idea why I felt that way during that time.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-02 12:43 am (UTC)(link)With family, I'm so looking forward to seeing everybody and then I get there and spend the entire day in a corner knitting because I have very little in common with my relatives and not a lot to talk about.
With the one group of friends, we used to be much closer before I hit the point where I just couldn't deal with some of the way they act, so I approach their occasional parties with a sense of dread. But when I get there, I alwys end up having a great time and remembering that, oh yeah, they are lovely human beings in small doses, and 2-4 gatherings a year is about the perfect amount of time to spend with them.
Re: Inspired by real life.
But I generally don't enjoy parties with friends unless they are at a house.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-02 03:14 am (UTC)(link)I went in there and... it was ok, I guess. There was one guy who was welcoming and friendly. But I ended up sitting at one end of the room, and most of the girls sat at the other end of the room, and they started talking about sex toys, and yeah.
It just felt awkward, and I felt left-out and a bit silly & prudish, since I haven't had sex before, and I don't really feel comfortable with frank discussions of the subject with complete strangers.
I'm not sure if I'll go back there, but I don't know what else to do.
