Things that you used to hate but now love.

This happens to me with a lot of songs.

Dat dere cowwa doody.

And uh, modern military shooters in general really. Used to play nothing but rpgs until I realized how much that narrowed my gaming choices, now most of the rpgs I used to love have become flat and lifeless crap to me.

hah, I'm the other way around -- I couldn't understand why anyone would bother with an RPG at all for like. . . probably ten years of my life. Then I saw the light.

popular, mainstream music. i had my music snob phase where i deleted anything that had more than a million view on youtube from my ipod. thankfully i got over it and now i just don't give a shit.

There are so many movies I hated or disliked as a kid that I... well, don't love as an adult, but I have a sort of respect for. To name a few: Gordy, the Great Mouse Detective, Flight of the Navigator.

my brothers and I used to make fun of The Great Mouse Detective endlessly Now I think it's a really fun and well-made movie.

Flight of the Navigator, on the other hand, was my favorite movie for. . . a long time. I won't say "an embarrassingly long time," because NOT EVEN SORRY.

Fried eggs. I used to loath eggs in all form, but now I like the fried kind.

Beef. I hated the taste of beef, before, and would only eat it when it was drenched in sauce. Now, though, I like it. Partly because I had to start eating more of it because I had low iron for a while.

How I Met Your Mother. I watched the pilot way back when it was first on, didn't like it, and so didn't watch the show. Just watched it all, though, and apart from the final its awesome.

I have such a soft spot for HIMYM. Some of the earlier seasons were really fantastic. But agreed about the finale :(

The middle seasons kind of slumped. But I felt like most of 8 and 9 were really good. At least, there were some really sold episodes and a lot of great character development (that, of course, the final completely reneged on). But I'm completely biased because I'm totally an unapologetic shipper.

I thought this final season really stepped it up, which made the ending more disappointing to me. I thought the mother was perfect. But in the end, I guess that's the way it goes.

Definitely happens a lot with songs. Also certain tv shows like The Office and Arrested Development. And some foods, like burgers (it helps that they actually make good veggie burgers now).

Cauliflower, squash, beets, corn (OMG I didn't like corn when I was super young, what the hell was wrong with me?).

So many things! Pop music, heavy metal, hip-hop -- basically all music that isn't whiny hipster sadness from the 90s. Also pro wrestling, basketball, YA novels, superhero comics, spicy food of all kinds, contemporary poetry, fanfiction and fanart, Oh, and broccoli. Used to completely not understand how anyone could eat it, now I love it.

Mustard. But only deli mustard, and only on pastrami sandwiches or occasionally egg and cheese sandwiches.

Yep. I didn't understand him at first.

Cilantro. Well, I don't love it, but I can enjoy it in small amounts now.

80s electro sound & vaporwave. I used to hate it, and now I can't stop listening to it.

I also used to hate Supernatural, and then I actually watched it, and ... well, I don't exactly LOVE it, but I can see why people like it.

I also went from liking Twilight initially, to hating it with the fire of a thousand suns, and now I have a sort of affection for it. It was a thing that happened, and provided so much amusement.

A fandom of mine where I thought people wweee all snobs, but it turned out they were pretty awesome after all.

Onions and tofu. I wouldn't touch 'em as a kid, but now they're almost always on the menu. There's also research. I think the reason I hated it was when I was in high school my non-internet sorces were sparse and/or not thorough enough for the papers I needed to complete for classes that were closer in scope to second year college courses. Once I actually got into college and had access to Lexis Nexus, it was game on.
