Roseanne.

Veronica Mars just kind of....stopped. One of the reasons I was so happy with the movie was because it fixed that awful finale.

What was so bad about The Pretender finale? I can't recall it at all, though I know I must've watched because I was all about that show when it was on.

Well, if you just go by the series, it ended with a giant explosion cliffhanger. If you go by the string of made for TV movies, which completely ignore Jarod's father and the romance Jarod had at the end of the series, it ends with prophecies on scrolls in Ireland.

Yes. Prophecies about a boy named Jarod on scrolls hidden in Ireland.

Roseanne. Way to piss all over the whole series.
DS9. Every Messiah doesn't necessarily need a cartoon-level evil counterpart.

And not worst finale as such, but the final episode of Soap. It got cancelled and I'm never going to find out how it would have actually ended.

Ugh, Dexter. One of my friends worked on that crew for the last season and said they would all cringe when they read the scripts.

Xena. Hated that ending so much.

I heard so much bad things about that ending + just the fact that it take places in Japan for a primarily Greek show, that I've still never watched the finale and choose to stop on the one where she and Gabrielle go flying off into the sunset.

And it's not like the show didn't have ideas/options. There was never a connection between the ancient Greek events and the whole future plot line started with Ares being trapped in a tomb by Xena until the 1940. If they really wanted to end on Xena's death, they could have made some epic showdown between the two or - keeping up the uneasy rapport they'd established by that time - something where they start off working together but Xena realizes she has to trap Ares for The Good of Mankind (TM), causing Ares to feel like she's betraying him...

...not that I've thought about any of this ever.

Digimon Adventure 02, aka "Finale? What finale?"

(Though while I was one of the many heartbroken shippers, I was the weird one upset that Tai and Mimi didn't end up together. Thus began my terrible string of shipping rarepairs.)

Star Trek Enterprise. I actually did like Enterprise, but the finale was just... so much no, absolutely not, the fuck were you thinking.

Ditto Voyager, but mostly for the goddamn cringeworthy Chakotay/Seven.

And book 1 of Korra, which actually killed any interest I had in book 2 (I made it... five episodes in to book 2 before giving up completely).

I know I'm in the minority but I didn't actually mind HIMYM. I mean, it definitely wasn't great by any means but I thought it was just...meh. I didn't love it or hate it.

Worst for me is definitely Dexter, hands down. Lost is up there too. And maybe Nip/Tuck? Although to be completely honest I can't remember much about the finale, and I almost want to say it doesn't even count because it's Ryan Murphy and it's pretty much a given that it's gonna be shitty.
