...partly because stuff isn't available in the country I'm in now, partly for sheer convenience. Like, I just pirated all of Eric Flint's 1632 series--can't find hard copies here and would have trouble gettin em home anyway, but once I get home Imma start stalking the used book stores and Amazon for the full set. I pirate a lot of tv shows, but then I later buy the DVD box sets--I just don't have tv, and I feel like they wouldn't get money from me watching them live, so it's not like I'm takin money outta their hands. When I was a kid I would borrow a lotta stuff from friends and or the library, so I'm used to being a terrible freeloader reading/watching things without laying down money for them first. Scandalous!
