Adding to the list of those asking just what you find wrong with the series.

Yeah some of it's corny as hell, the names are supposed to be older language adapted by humans, the sex scenes can be hit or miss, but otherwise it's not bad. Then again, I happen to enjoy some terrible things so I may not be the best person to ask.

Personally, I'm not able to get over those shit stupid names to actually read those things. It's just... why didn't anyone ever tell her how fucking stupid those names sound? They are literally Enoby levels of ridiculously, embarassingly stupid.

I haven't read it, but it would be hard for me to get past the stupid names, too. ESPECIALLY if they're supposed to represent an older language that just happens to include a lot of names that look exactly like modern English words with an h jammed into them somewhere.

I'd be more inclined to buy it if, for example, the characters were 12 y/o metalheads who accidentally bound themselves to terrible names in what turned out to be a permanently binding naming ceremony. But I haven't read these books, so maybe it works anyway?

But names are one of the few things I'm really picky about. Like, I don't mind it when "alien" characters are just human actors with a stamp on their forehead or pointy ears, but lazy language-building is pretty hard for me to get over. If you enjoy them, great!

I don't know, maybe I should try them just to see if the author can make it work.
