Re: Not the end of the world, but...
(Anonymous) 2014-04-04 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)I enjoyed the film adaptation of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen a lot more than the comics.
I thought Star Trek XI was just as terrible as ST:ID.
And speaking of Star Trek, I really like Tasha Yar.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-04 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)Is Tasha Yar not liked? But Tasha was great? I remember thinking some dirty thoughts about her and Data when I was super young.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 12:00 am (UTC)(link)Man, like, I can see not liking the comic but that movie was just really, really bad
And Star Trek XI was shit but mostly in the ways that essentially all Star Trek films are kind of shit

Yes, yes it was. It was also, however, cheesy and hilarious, and made me ship Jekyll/Hyde/Nemo for reasons I have yet to fathom.
Could have done without Tom Sawyer, though.

I really liked the comics (Up until the 1969 era)
I don't care too much for Alan Moore. I want to like him because he has a strong engaging personality, has written some brilliant works, and in theory I am on side with a lot of his views. but the attitude man, it just grates on me.
I really really enjoyed the LXG movie. Seen it loads of times and yeah, it has it's flaws, but it also has Sean Connery being bad-ass. An actual vampire and the invisible man is NOT a rapist in this version. Comic was better, but the movie was pretty great. I also liked the movies V for vendetta, From Hell, and I thought the ending to Watchman was much better than the comics.
