I prefer CGI that's a lot more stylistic. Like 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs', though that could be because the character designers flat out admitted they were heavily influenced by the Muppets in terms of the aesthetic. Or 'Clone Wars', which most people don't even realize is also a flat-out homage on the designer's part, except it's one for the Gerry Anderson/'Thunderbirds' marionette shows of the 60's (which they have stated several times when the show first aired). Even Green Lantern: TAS is basically 'Bruce Timm style, but in 3D'. Nickelodeon's TMNT cartoon has a definite, angular/stylized feel to it that has a lot of energy. And even some of Pixar's stuff looks great if it doesn't revolve around people, which is why I love the 'Monsters' movies and 'WALL-E' as much as I do. *That's* the type of CGI I like.

It's the overly homogenous stuff (i.e. the whole Rise of the Brave Frozen Tangled Dragons crap) that I'm so bored with. I can give 'Wreck-it-Ralph' a pass, since it had varying styles b/c of the video game aesthetic; but everything else is just so boring-looking, imho. =T

(Well... I can give 'Rise of the Guardians' a fair pass, since most of the characters do have unique appearances. It's only Jack that's the homogenous*CGI-looking person, but I digress)
