I worked on one fanfic for over 5 years (it was a long plotty genfic thing), and even my short fics take at minimum a month to complete. On the other hand, I have never spent more than two weeks on a piece of fanart. So yeah, I'm surprised nobody's pointed this out.

Same here.
Writing a 50k fic can take me a year or more and that's not counting research (when needed) + editing.

Another anon agreeing with this.

Whenever I see a fanartist going "OMG this took me three days to make!!!!"

I look at how many months it takes me to write my novel length fics, and I just want to say, "Oh, child, you have no idea."
