I don't think it should be legal to sell fan art either, and I am an artist who makes fan art on occasion. I just feel really weird profiting from someone else's intellectual properties. I will use fan art to get traffic to my site, but I really want to sell my original work. I've had lots of requests for print's of my fan art. But I just can't bring myself to do it. It is rough though because fan art is ALWAYS an easier sell than original work. But how would I feel if someone was making fan material of my comics and making a tidy profit with nothing coming my way? Pretty mad!

Also who wants to get in a tangle with a major company?
