I skipped my exams to go to DC last week and now one of my lecturers wants me to take his paper. Now. During the holidays. My college is two hours away. I know he's only doing it because he thinks it's for my own good but damn I hate him today.

I kind of sympathise with you, anon. I don't really want a romantic partner because that would probably require being in close proximity with somebody most of the time and I'm a very me-centric person, but I do want a platonic friend who wouldn't mind being dragged all over the country all the time to do stuff with me. I already have some really great friends but they all live in the next continent and I want someone who lives within driving distance at least.

It was hideously cold most of the time and I got sick from the rain, that's how it went. I met up with a good friend at one point and spent the whole day with her but the city acted as if it didn't want to let us do anything, half the places we wanted to go were closed and it just rained all day. DC is a beautiful city though, and I did enjoy my trip! I finally know what a CVS is, what Pop Tarts and Reese cakes are, and I've been to a Walmart! I feel that much more cultured than I was before, haha.

Sucks about the weather man. But I'm glad you still had a good time!

Wal-mart gets you, like, negative culture points haha. Pop Tarts are delicious though.

DC dweller here. You picked a really unpleasant week to come to DC, our weather has been hideous since like December. But I'm glad you enjoyed the city.

Yeah but I don't resent it too much. I'm an Irish girl currently living in a tropical country and I've missed really cold weather for a while so even with my hands beginning to freeze off (there was this one day when it was totally dry but the winds were insane, my mum broke her umbrella), it was like a blast of nostalgia, haha. I left a bit of my heart back there too, I think. I've been so grumpy about being home ever since.
