Even if you're sure it started out as the flu, if it sticks around for much longer, go to the doc. The flu can trash your immune system (especially if it wasn't in the best shape to start with) and leave you vulnerable to all sorts of contagious nastiness like bronchitis.

Even if the doc sends you away with "it's the flu, go back to bed" you could get higher-strength meds and that might be worth the trip.
