Don't feel bad. It's a well made show. Like seeing a Renaissance painting of something horrific (most likely Biblical) come to life. Like Yeah, Judith is hacking off Holofernes' head but look how Caravaggio captured the light and the dark in his work. Brilliant.

I like Artemisia Gentileschi's version of that scene better. Judith doesn't look like she's trying hard enough to actually cut his head off here.

That's...a really great description of the show, actually. Because the images, the colours, the music - it's all so fucking beautiful in Hannibal, and sometimes it softens the blow a bit. Of course, sometimes it does the exact opposite, too. :)
