That's a rotten feeling--a while back I stumbled upon a thread in an anon community: "Stories everyone else loves that you hate," and there I was, being eviscerated. I came to my senses and backbuttoned out before I read too much, but--ouch! I spent the rest of the day reminding myself that not everyone likes every story, most of the people who read my fics probably don't do it for purposes of mockery (though I can't control it if they do) and the nature of fic is generally to write about angles on canon that will piss off some people even as they please others.

So now I'm saying all that to you. It sucks when people dislike your stories (although in both our cases, those who hated our stuff did so somewhere besides on our stories, which is something.) We can't control that, and we're not writing to curry favour with people who don't like what we do. I hope after the sting fades and your self-talk cheers up a bit that you'll realize your stories give a lot of pleasure to some people, and to you, and you'll be able to start writing in the new fandom again.
