I was going to say "state abbreviations" but that's not what you are going for. But it's true. All bets are off for the "m" states.

I have a problem with the "m" states too, but moreso in the "finding the right initialism" way.

Same. Though for me whenever I read "LA" I think of Louisiana instead of Los Angeles.

I blame the fact I live near the border, and have family there that I talk to far more often than I have anything to do with the city LA.

I find American state abbreviations confusing, because I'm used to ones like QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, ACT, SA, WA and NT. Oh, and those are all of ours! America has so damn many!

Okay, I guessed Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territory, mostly from media, but what does ACT stand for?
