The ableist comments

It's not ableist to say that someone is responsible for their actions, it's true - unless they have been deemed incompetent. Mental illness does not absolve you of all blame.

If I lash out at someone when I am in a depressive period, I don't get a free pass for it just because I was depressed. It is still my choice to say those things - my mental illness does not take control of my body and force me to say them. Depression making my temper shorter is an explanation, not an excuse. I was still a jerk, and I still owe those people an apology afterward.
