I'm conflicted about it. On the one hand, zines are an awesome thing. And participating in the ACD Holmes zine fandom is great. Possibly more so than in its online version.

But all my smaller fandoms were soooo fucked back then. (this is not to mention the ones that did not exist...). Like, the feeling of absolute loneliness is tremendous. As someone who counts Catch-22, Murder Rooms, and The Flying Inn among their fandoms I so do not appreciate having to sit in my corner having a lively conversation with myself.

I agree. I don't know what else to say, but I def agree. My favorite AU's are the ones where the characters feel like themselves, not necessarily the ones with the most creative or engaging story-lines.

I think there would have been a lot less bitching about 47 Ronin if they hadn't thrown Keanu Reeves in there. I mean, Avatar: The Last Airbender used stuff ranging from two or three different continents, and nobody bitched about it until the race lifts in the movie.

Regardless of you feelings about the movies,why would it be odd for someone to like one and not the others? They are all very different types of movies. It is like comparing Saw,The Conjuring, and Gremlins with each other.

I haven't (really) been involved in online gaming since the early days of Rainbow Six, but I was always nervous about playing with others too. There's not much to do except just jump in and try to have fun though. Keep a good attitude about things, block jerks, and maybe you'll make some friends.

The memory that haunts Samus nightmares is of Ridley standing in the flaming wreck of her home. Of the creeping fear her mom is dead, which is quickly confirmed, along with her father and everybody else she's ever loved.

She thinks of Ridley a lot but I promise you it's in no way that holds love or tenderness. There is the fear of a child that she cannot shake, there is the rage of the warrior she became to slay that fear, but there is no love.

Okay... Did anyone ask you for advice, or do you honestly think yourself that self-important? If I'm gonna take advice from someone, it's at least gonna be from a person who knows the difference between "think" and "thank". Also, what's with the "disabilities are no excuse" bit? What do you know? You can't just judge every situation like that, that's just dumb.
