Don't feel bad. The closest I came was The Joy Luck Club.

And yet, it was close enough, because watching a movie about how Asian mothers and American-raised Asian daughters clash over everything, had me in tears with the truth of it. Fuck it if I'm not actually Chinese. Close enough for gov't work.
