Arin would constantly put Jon down - he was incredibly derogatory towards him, so I get pretty annoyed when people are all 'OMG JON COME BACK!' People wanting you to go back to being someone's punching bag has got to suck. As for Arin's wife, she is the kind of person who is so insecure that they won't tolerate anyone of the same gender within one hundred feet. This attitude spread towards people Jon cared for and wanted to hang around with. She would alienate people, and Arin enables it. I want nothing to do with anything they're part of.

Wow, is this all public? I don't know anything about the wife, but I did recognize one of the guys as the husband to that one big Mass Effect cosplayer after Googling names. Hard to believe they would enable that, too. I get if my opinion is taken with heaps of salt tho.

It's not public. I imagine they wanted the break to be hushhush for professionalism, but too many people close to it know, and then their friends knew and it's spread. Regardless, I really cannot stomach Arin at this point.

That's a shame to hear, but thank you for the info. I used to be bullied as a kid, and for the time being I think I'll stick with the Youtubers I like instead of checking this channel out.

I don't really know anything about Suzy, because I've not watched any of her stuff, so I don't really have any impressions of her.
But that sucks.
I've dealt with people like that, before. They're not fun.

I just tried searching and this story actually does pop up again as a repost on NeoGaf (the original is behind a SA paywall):

"alrighty since y'all are interested i've got a few stories. sorry it took so long for me to type!

we met with a few friends once for sushi, and the whole time we just shittalked people we didn't like. whenever any of us would mention jontron, arin (i know him by his real name) would always be really begrudging towards him and generally insulting. arin was generally nice to me during the evening, added me on facebook and all that, but whenever i'd try to strike up a conversation he would never reply unless it was like--fanart or whatever. he ditched me because he thought i was creepy though lmao i didn't even message him that much? maybe once every other month?

but his wife suzy was really catty towards me and would read my tumblr and got on my case for making a joke about meeting arin all of one time. i guess that's why arin thought i was creepy. between that and all of the stories i heard, i was like, wow! you're a douche! and i don't need that in my life.

but then jon left game grumps, and i was the first person to suspect foul play. i had my boyfriend do some digging, bless his heart, and what i found out was, suzy and arin were both verbally and mentally abusive towards jon, and wouldn't allow jon to bring his girlfriend around them, and basically they made fun of jon behind his back at every turn. they also took a hefty portion of jon's cut of the grump money without his knowledge, which arin wouldn't even see most of, because suzy would just spend it on clothes for herself.

say what you will about jon's comedy or videos, but he's a really nice guy. i sent him a gift once and he was very sweet about it, and he likes me as a person. he's polite to literally everyone. he couldn't take arin's shit anymore and finally snapped and left.

arin pretty much doesnt give a shit anymore, wears pajamas all day, operates on the lowest setting and just lets the money roll in. he didn't even care that jon left and took half his audience with it; arin just brought on that danny guy (and ross, who's kind of odd in his own way) and regained his audience. it's kind of a sad state of affairs.

There are also different ones I've never seen where Suzy is blamed because she got more involved, or one where Jon left because Arin slapped his girlfriend, and they were put right alongside the more common rumors.

I've never seen them beyond some of their old videos, so I don't have a good read on any of this, but I figured I'd link/summarize since I did the same hunt.
