I wouldn't say it's like reading the IMDb of a movie and then saying it's your fav. LP's are a lot more like playing then that, but on the other, even *less* thorough.

I'd say it's more like...watching half the episodes of a show but skipping over several key arcs and gleaning your knowledge of the arcs you skipped from the "previously on..." segments that come before each episode, and then claiming that you're able to discuss the show as a whole just as well as people who have seen the whole show.
