They're not *stuck* with it. The show needed dwarfs, literally, so they got people with dwarfism to play it. I'm absolutely SURE that if they'd got actors that didn't have dwarfism and somehow made them look shorter the cry about discrimination and erasing etc would be deafening.

The point of the secret isn't criticisng that movie, it's that the majority of actors with dwarfism *only* get to play roles like that, as opposed to Dinklage, who is lucky enough to play actual people who happen to have dwarfism. I'm sure those actors don't complain about the money that traditional dwarf roles bring in (I watched the documentary series on Channel 4 in the UK about the cast of a pantomime who plays the 7 Dwarfs every year on stage and it was their bread and butter) but if you become an actor it's presumably nice to get to play a variety of roles and not just 'look at the funny magical people'.
