Re: Favorite SPN season
(Anonymous) 2014-04-16 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)OTOH, Season 4 had Anna, who is my enduring favorite character after Cas, and I'm one of those oddballs who really liked Gen's Ruby. Also, 'On the Head of a Pin' would have carried the whole season by itself IMO, but we also got 'Lazarus Rising' and 'Yellow Fever' and 'The Rapture' and 'I Know What You Did/Heaven and Hell.'
Apart from those two seasons it gets harder for me to rank them. Season 6 overall was a letdown, but it did have some real gems (Soulless!Sam was painful in terms of what it did to Sam's character, but the writing for him taken by itself was hilarious, and 'Weekend at Bobby's', Balthazar, and 'The Man Who Would Be King' redeemed a lot of the season's weaknesses IMO.) A lot of my other favorite eps were scattered throughout Seasons 2 and 3, but Bela Talbot and the writer's strike put a damper on 3 as a whole for me, sadly.
From S7 on I've mostly liked characters, scenes or concepts as opposed to episodes or the season as a whole. Charlie, Garth, Benny, the Trans, the Men of Letters and the bunker, some of the additional angel and demon lore, Meg's character development and a few other items have been cool and good fodder for roleplay, but nothing that's rivaled S5 and S4.
