Re: Fandom Breakups...
(Anonymous) 2014-04-17 12:34 am (UTC)(link)Sherlock - the stupid got to me. Still hang out in small corner of the fandom though, where I'm insulated from all the other bullshit.
Criminal Minds - this show literally just got too stupid for me to continue watching it or engaging with the fandom at all. I have watched a lot of dumb shows in my time, and I can say without a doubt that this one, though it wasn't always, in a space of a few seasons easily became the dumbest. A pox on you, CM, a pox.

And I wish I could get back into SPN. If for nothing else, it would stop my friend from bugging me about it.
Re: Fandom Breakups...
(Anonymous) 2014-04-17 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)I'm not sure about the original anon, but for me CM started going around Season 6, when they temporarily got rid of both JJ and Emily (and then promptly brought them both back next season, dropping Agent Seaver who'd come in to replace them). The actual plots I think also took a dip in quality in S6, but it wasn't anything I could pin down so much except for a general sense that they weren't as grounded and solid as previous cases, more skimming across the criminals than delving properly into them.
I'm not sure if it picked up again after that, because I'd drifted away and I've only caught the odd episode here or there since.
