I don't understand why you think "Cookies" was just "fluffy feel-good nonsense."

It heavily alludes to that fact that a evil corporation (that has explitly murdered and desecrated people's bodies) knows the locations of several young girls and has plans to use them as child soldiers and/or harm them in awful ways. And Cecil's niece happens to be one of them.

I don't know about you, but that's pretty heavy if you ask me...

lmao, mte. The last few episodes (haven't heard the latest one yet, but) have been dark and disturbing. Plus you've got Cecil threatening one of his co-workers on air ("Daniel looks to have a lot of blood"), and (like you mentioned) the way Strex keeps trying to find ways to harm and silence Cecil. Random happenings are one thing, but Strex doesn't go away in one episode; they're a very real, serious threat that's been around and is slowly building up into what I imagine will be some terrible confrontation or revolution.
