The podcast is not like the tweets. A lot of it relies on the same concept -- taking something familiar and twisting it in a direction you weren't expecting -- but the tweets are based on the literal meanings of phrases that aren't supposed to be taken literally and will already be familiar to an American audience.

Ah, so to understand the tweets you'd have to be versed on American culture and/or idioms... No wonder some of the meanings just fly over my head. I mean, I know some, but definitely not all of them...

It's also interesting to note the podcast is different to the tweets. I thought they were pretty much the same just on different formats.

Nah, the podcast is a half an hour long and has an overarching plot and recurring characters. If you're interested, listening to it might help your English skills.
