(Anonymous) 2014-04-17 03:27 am (UTC)(link)Still hated the direction it took, though; felt like it was just trying really hard to be edgy and dark and the only way it knew how to do that was "KILL EVERYTHING (except Gwen)". Torchwood's never been a cheerful show, but the format in CoE changed so much it didn't feel like Torchwood any more. =X

And yeah, exactly. CoE was so damn depressing sometimes I almost stopped watching BEFORE episode four, and the whole thing with the bomb in Jack's stomach was almost... gory horror for the sake of gory horror?
