There have been SO MANY situations where Batman should have killed Joker in self-defence. The thing I hate about no kill policies in cape comics is they act like killing someone is always bad regardless of the circumstances.

But there is absolutely nothing wrong with killing someone because they're trying to kill you and/or other people. I think the vast majority of people would agree with this.
If you could easily stop them without killing them that's different, but that's not usually the case for Batman. I mean he generally manages it anyway, but only because of bullshit plot armour.
