Right face, but a little too short.

I somehow think the people who make hobbits and dwarves smaller than the men/elves can figure out a way to make her look a bit taller. Put her on a box.

For that much effort they can probably get someone equally beautiful, taller, and an actually competent actress to boot.

Give her Cate Blacnhett's disco heels.

That was kind of my reaction. My first thought was, "Wow, she is strikingly beautiful," before I even saw the secret text. I can understand why OP thinks she'd make a good elf; she definitely has the ethereal, delicate-featured look.

Seriously! Not that I ever found her unattractive before, but in this picture...wow, she almost looks like a different person. I never realized how beautiful her features were; she's stunning. (And could totally be an elf, IA OP. IDK if she can act, but...hey, she could always have one line or hang around in the background.)

Most of the rest of the elves don't act so much as they wander around pretending to be mysterious/constipated. I'm pretty sure she could handle that.

I get what you're saying. She has elfin features. But I think she'd probably be a torturously awful actress.

I can see it, OP. That hairstyle suits her way more than the pin-straight hair I'm used to seeing her with.

Huh. She does look nice with different makeup.

Her eye makeup was heavy, but I guess I never considered it goth, hah.

I can see it looks wise, but her actually playing an elf would be... Interesting.

Oh my god, she DOES look like an elf.

I'd watch a movie where her and Chad Kroeger played crime fighting elves. I think it would be hilarious.

The Hobbit is better without Avril, I'd say. But she does have the looks for it with the blonde hair.

I'm embarrassed that I got Celebrían and Celeborn mixed up, and wondered why Avril would make a good elf king.

Yep, always thought Avril was gorgeous.

Hmm... I could see her as Cate Blanchett's Galadriel's daughter.

I know some people upthread wonder about her being able to act, and unfortunately, if Celebrian is who you want to cast her ask, either she'd have to be able to look good, play tortured and sickly, or carry off a line or two - maybe even all three. Standing around looking pretty is fine if you just show her in Rivendell, tortured during her Goblin capture, sickly after and right up to sailing.

I have also heard tell the Necromancer might visit the White Council with ghosts of their loved ones when they face off against him. The place I heard that implied Elrond would get confronted with a ghost of his twon brother, so I could totally see both him and Galadriel facing a ghost of Celebrian as well. That would involve a speaking part though.

But the fact that I think it's too late in TABA production to put something like that in means this will remain a fancasting, alot like Gerard Butler in his Beowulf role being the poster-boy for Frerin, Thorin's younger brother.

My main problem is that my mind was pretty scarred by the awful, infamous, boring-as-fuck Celebrian fanfic, that I really don't want to picture Avril in that role.

That was just because of the elf named 'Elros' in DOS, who as it turned out had nothing to do with Elrond (grrr).
