Yeah, I'm with you. I don't care what the reasons behind are in-character, it doesn't matter. It's just a bunch of guys designing a woman in the skimpiest possible outfit because it's hot to them. The rest is just insincere justification of the fact.

I think it's the bullshitting that really bothers me about it. Like, Bayonetta doesn't bother me because no one ever tried to say "well she dresses in skintight things because [pseudo-deep reason here]", it was always "she looks awesome like that". At least be honest about it.
