So there is a female character you dislike in your fandom: why is this secret? It's not as if you are the first and only one, most fandoms have one or several unpopular female characters. Regardless of how unpopular you think your dislike is (either because you think your dislike is irrational or because this character is popular with the majority of the other fans), I do not get why you posted this secret: do you think you are a unique snowflake or are you conducting a poll to see how many people here share your opinion?

Especially if you are referring to Clara in Doctor Who: she doesn't seem to be very popular with anyone, actually? For instance, I find her character unsympathetic and find the actress both untalented and not cute enough to make up for her terrible, sub-par story arcs on her own merits, but I am neither ashamed to admit it in public or feel that my opinion is not shared by the majority of Doctor Who fans. The most positive fans opinions I ever read about Clara are: 'She's not so bad!' or 'I will give her a chance just in case', which I would call damning her with faint praise, really.

OP: I posted it as a secret because debate online about liking/disliking companions often spirals into argument. I just wanted to get this off my chest without inviting a big discussion or having to defend all my reasons for disliking her.

I see.

You really need to grow a thicker skin to interact with online fandom, then. Afraid to admit that you do not like a fairly unlikeable character which the majority of fandom is not really in love with either? Really, you need to get over this: you cannot please everybody all the time, it's just not possible. And even positive, very mild opinions can get you flames, you know!

Being anon is irrelevant: being flamed as an anon hurts just as much, it just doesn't follow you around fandom. On the other hand, having no (official) opinions about characters, controversial or not, also follows you around marking you as a fairly shallow fan, so...

Consider that if the fandom circles you are in are so explosive that you are justified in thinking you will be flamed for admitting you don't like a character like Clara, you may need to switch your fandom platform. Quick story: my initial introduction to my first online fandom years ago was an anime mailing list, the biggest and most active at the time, with thousands of posts every day where all the good stuff, fanfiction and fanart was being posted, along with tons of meta discussion. I was unlucky enough to join at the start of a major flame war (those were fairly frequent on that ML, based on a quick check of the ML recent archives) shadowed it for a few days in complete lurker mode, then simply decided to join another, smaller mailing list (only a few hundred posts per day) and ended up having an enjoyable fairly flame free fandom experience for nearly 5 years. This was due to the fact that on that smaller ML, people's reactions were slightly more moderate and though I never bashed any character, I also never had to hide general disdain and lack of sympathy for the main female character whose stupidity (in canon) was really hard to take, though she was the main het love interest.

Of course, I admit that such advice is easy to give from the outside: I was a 9th Doctor fan and never managed to the same level of fannish love for 10th and 11th Doctor era, so I cannot be said to be part of the DW fandom. In fact, I am going backwards and checking out earlier Doctors now...
