Nah, Miley Cyrus knows exactly what she is doing. So what if people like you call her stupid names and make fun of her, everyone is talking about her. People are buying her songs and guess what? She doesn't care why you bought it, you are giving her money. She doesn't seem to be into drugs or any other nasty stuff young stars get into. But she has a perfect stage/public persona that puts her on the front of magazines and in the news.

That doesn't contradict what OP is saying, though? Cyrus wants attention. She's getting it any way she can get it, it doesn't matter what kind. Gaga gets the reactions she wants and aims for, Cyrus wants any at all. That's why it looks so desperate.

I mean, they are both screaming, "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!" but at least Miley Cyrus is succeeding. Hell, Lady Gaga looks more desperate to me. Especially now that no one cares about her, so she keeps wearing idiotic edgy/"artsy" crap.

I do wish she'd learn some oral hygiene. Her tongue in that picture is just disgusting.

Wasn't she eating a sucker during that performance? I only ever saw GIFs of it but I vaguely remember one. But hey, tongues are hard to clean especially if you have a terrible gag reflex.

Her manager knows what she's doing. She just goes along with what she's expected to do. At least Gaga does it because she came up with all that weird shit by herself.

do you have any actual evidence for this, besides not liking Miley

(Anonymous) 2014-04-20 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
There is evidence in that apparently it takes 5 people to write Miley Cyrus' music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrecking_Ball_%28Miley_Cyrus_song%29), whereas Lady Gaga composes her own songs on the piano.

Gaga is a creator. Cyrus is a manufactured talent.

Personally, I don't listen to either musician, as a data point.

Nobody becomes a better singer because they also play the guitar or write music, and nobody writes better music because they also perform it themselves. I, for example, much prefer the sound of Blind Guardian after Kürsch went to focus on his singing.

Yes, it's admirable when a person can do several things well, but trying to judge the merit of skill A by how good they are at skill B seems idiotic.

AKA who writes her music really has jack shit to do with how exactly her public image is made? And at least she can actually sing.

Oh? I must have missed that interview with her manager, can you link it to me?

I think Miley is far more savvy than people give her credit for. At this point, she has over two decades of bubbly-blond-teen-singers to look back on and see where they lost relevance and stopped making money. Her career has already outlasted a lot of them, and I think a lot of it is because most people don't look at her and think: Hannah Montana, sparkly Disney princess.

lol maybe not hard drugs but she's def into pot

I hardly consider pot a drug. It is no worse than cigarettes and is better than alcohol.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-20 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
i would consider any hard partying to be the same, it's not the method so much as the behavior while she's doing it that's messed up

she has zero respect for anyone else, that's messed up and the thing i disliked most was that she didn't respect a workspace she was borrowing or leasing or whatever while she was supposed to be behaving professionally

gaga would not have done that

From googling, it looks like the person said that they told them they had to smoke the pot in the alley (which they did)? Can't really find much.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-20 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
Are you for real? Pot is a drug, full stop. It's not as bad for you as a lot of other recreational drugs out there and it's proven to have some medicinal uses, but it's still most definitely a drug (just like cigarettes, alcohol, and coffee). Saying "I hardly consider it a drug" just because it's not the hard stuff is asinine to say the least.

I meant hard drug. You said, "hard drugs but she's def into pot". I assumed you were separating pot from things like meth, heroin, and cocaine. Otherwise you can just say, "hard drugs but she's def into pot, cigarettes, alcohol, and coffee."

But yeah, I hardly consider pot to be any worse than cigarettes. And it is much safer than alcohol (honestly, I'd consider it safer than cigarettes).

thread op

the anon above was not the ayrt, different typing style should tip you off but ia that pot is not innocent because people tend to think it's more okay to use than alcohol in any circumstance. they don't treat it the same way because they think it doesn't influence them the way alcohol does. not as addictive or potentially deadly as meth or something hard, but problematic all the same. it affects behavior and mental state and judgment. if you consider that it's as safe as cigarettes in terms of how it affects the brain, you need to educate yourself. there's a reason driving under the influence includes driving while stoned.

article here. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/17/miley-cyrus-rolls-joint_n_4978669.html) you really think they went outside after snapping pics? i doubt it. they were pissed.

i wouldn't respect someone who was drunk on the job either, same thing to me. someone who thinks they're cool by rolling joints in a studio where they were asked not to, taking pics and then claiming they didn't do it inside, please.
