Nah fuck that Miley Cyrus is fine and she gets way too much hate for no appreciable reason. I mean, "desperate for attention" - how the fuck are you going to determine that?

Everything that I've seen her do gives me the impression that she's in control of her career. Everything that she's done that's been controversial, pretty much, has been part of a public performance and a public persona, and it gives me the impression that she's doing it basically because she thinks it's interesting. And you don't have to like that but the level of personal condemnation she gets for it is absurd (although it's probably also what she wants). I don't find it bratty or immature and I think that's a judgment you're putting on it, but I know I'm never going to convince you of this and you're going to reply saying "It's just gross" and "she's disgusting" and "she's flaunting her body" or whatever, and I just don't care if you think that, so why am I even saying this? I don't rightly know.

I don't care for the way she's keeping herself in the spotlight because, being 43, I've seen it all before and it was a lot more interesting the first time around (Maddona). Even when Britney and Christina was doing it, it was aged. Now, it's geriatric. However, I'm aware that to the generation she's appealing to, it's new. Whatever.

But, I don't believe she's flaunting her body at all. That stupid outfit she wore at the VMAs had nude underwear underneath, and it was practically granny cut, the way the nude nylon covered her naughty bits. I don't think she's out of control OR immature. I don't even think she's the Wild Child she makes herself out to be. I think she found a tried and true way of keeping herself relevant (and rich) past her child star expiration date, and I think everything she does, for the most part, is very calculated.

But again, I also think it's been done to death.
