You don't have to like her. Though admittedly I like that she's a teenager and I hope she sticks around. Many teenage characters these days just fall through.

Also you might want to check out Iron Patriot, Mighty Avengers, (Adjective-less) X-Men, Black Widow, Elekra, All New Ghost Rider, Captain Marvel and She Hulk for other Marvel books that attempt to appeal to other crowd besides straight, adult, white males.

I would add Young Avengers to that list, though it's on hiatus again. I think there's like ... one straight character left on that team by now.

The newest Nova's pretty squarely aimed at the teenage crowd. And Wolverine and the X-Men focusses a lot on the school-kids.
