They're both desperate attention-whores. It's not a contest about which one is worse. They are equally pathetic.

Why is it pathetic for a celebrity to try to attract attention? That's their job.

Some celebs attract attention by their talent, promoting a cause, working for a charity, or trying to make the world a better place.

Others stick their tongues out at the camera.

That makes sense to me. I just don't get why "attention-whore" is an insult. You can criticize someone's methods of getting attention, but to criticize the desire for attention when that's pretty universal (even people who don't like being the center of attention have people they want to pay attention to them), especially when their job depends on it? That never makes sense to me.

You make a good point. My thoughts are that everybody wants attention, but only a special few are that desperate.

Case in point.

KISS. But I guess it's okay because they're men.

No, it's not okay. I have NEVER liked KISS. I have always felt their fame was due to the theatrics of their stage costumes, Simmons' tongue, and the merchandise machine that keeps their name somewhat 'out there'.

The last thing people ever cite in their fame train is their music. Which, imo, has been mediocre at best. Forgettable, at worst.

So KISS is as bad as Miley Cyrus as far as I go.

I was never fond of KISS. Never understood the appeal. Meh.
