You're correct but I know from experience that pointing out how vastly different these experiences are will result in a metric shitton of butthurt from those who do more watching than playing (though they'll pretend othewise right now for argument's sake even if they have stated otherwise in the past). The whole player versus nonplayer thing got pretty heated in the dmc fandom,as it was painfully obvious from their writing or take on the game which was which. RE is similar.
