video games for me. i can barely play anything horror related. but movies or books never scare me. in fact outside video games i tend to find most horror things annoying or silly.

Urg, I'm so easily spooked in video games. Outside of video games is a different story, but being directly responsible for the characters fate brings the fear to another level.

I'm the kind of person who stands around psyching myself up to walk down the dark hall or turn the corner. I'll search every single corner of the room methodically but always try to have my back near a wall, lol.

yup. especially games where the controller vibrates or like silent hill and that damn radio. the second that starts, NOPE. im done, i can't take it lol. i have a mental crisis before doing anything. i much prefer watching let's plays.

I like let's plays for certain things, but overall I much prefer to play. I have a hard time sitting still and watching a whole let's play. Reading that long? No problem. Watching an entire season of a tv show? Alright. But let's plays I get bored of quickly. I feel worried the player is 'missing' things and it's still stressful, but in an entirely different way. lmao. (I wish I enjoyed them more though, because there are certain games I would love to play but haven't bought or can't run and that would be so much easier!)

Some horror games though, I would just never manage to get through. Made it through Silent Hill 2 on my own but watched Outlast and would never go near that thing in a million years.

Same. Oh gosh, even things that aren't intended as "horror" type scary can scare the crap out of me in games.
