Yes, any of the things that other commentators say about tumblr eating posts could be true ... On the other hand, the person could just be a hypocritical shithead control freak who just likes wearing the mask of "approachable."

Nope.

It's unlikely any BNF receives 6,000 asks a day, so if they advertise themselves as "friendly and accessible" then they ought walk the walk and reply; if they don't I begin to weight the probability that they're just narcissists trawling for worship.

Or they were depressed or overwhelmed with what seems to be a busy inbox or possibly RL, or they did answer and it was lost in the dash, or when OP got so depressed they couldn't look at the tumblr any more.

I mean, goodness, people on the other side of things are human beings, not automatic letter answerers who only avoid asks to be vindictive?

I agree, it could be any of those reason you gave ... but if you think the "withholding replies to be vindictive and snub people" thing never happens, then i think you're far too naive.
