The only thing I can say is that acupuncture is not a reasonable substitute for scientifically backed medicine. It's worth reading up on the history of the practice of acupuncture and what skeptics say about it if you have any concerns.

Ultimately I doubt it'll do any harm, and if you're into spiritual healing I'm sure it'll have an effect on you! Just don't go throwing away any prescription medicine or the like.
