As someone who gets a lot of asks and messages, it's sometimes easy to forget an ask, only to see it much later and become mortified because "what if the asker hates me for taking so long in replying".

There's also the issue of replies being closed if you're not following the asker, which is a hassle in itself.

I think OP should send another ask before assuming the worst, just to check if the previous ask came through.
