And if you haven't read the books? There are people who are aware of both, but there's a sizable chunk that's only watched GOT. You can tell me what happened in the books, but if it didn't happen in the show then why are you explaining about alternate sources of canon?

Feels like the arguments over comicverse Walking Dead and televised Walking Dead. "Well, in the BOOKS, they did THIS!" So what? It never showed up on TV.

Because the books are canon while the show is just a watered-down, second rate adaptation that routinely ruins characters?

lol crai more, purist. GRRM writes for, monitors and approves of the show.

Funny, he seems to do a lot of damage control whenever an episode he wrote for ends up being shit (ie - him claiming he didn't write Theon's scene in episode 7) and has questioned D&D's actions (saying the lack of Willas and Garland on the show will present problems for them in the future). He's also said he considers the show their own thing, separate from his books.

There's no way he's gonna openly badmouth something that's giving him loads of money and attention, but it's obvious he thinks it's an inferior product. Now enjoy your quality rapist!Jaime and Pod the Sex God bullshit, showpleb.

pleb. seriously?

He writes one episode per series and acts as an advisor. If the producers decide to do something he doesn't particularly approve of, there's nothing he can do. See the current outcry over Jaime raping Cersei.

Judging by his commentaries, a lot of executive meddling seems to happen. He doesn't have much control over the series, from the sounds of it.

Why so butthurt?
